Farm to Bottle: Tastings and Tales Tour
We are so excited to offer this new guest experience on Thursdays at Sideways Farm & Brewery and would like you to be a part of it! We had so much fun with the farm tour this year, that we wanted to offer something similar, yet more intimate, regularly as an “Experience” on Airbnb. The ASAP Farm Tour was a whirlwind tour and packed with people! We wanted to take that excitement, education, and energy and offer it in a 2-hour format limited to only 10 guests, perfect for those that are interested in learning more about tasting methods, brewing methods, or our farming methods!
January 2020 Events
Tip our Community - All tips for January go to Environmental Educators of NC
January 10th - Two Releases:
#64 Research Pale Ale – our second pale ale using a newly bred hop from the Mountain Horticultural Research Center. Hop NC-1601 (it's too early for it to have a name) gives this pale ale notes of fruitiness, especially gooseberry, with white wine characteristics.
#65 The River - This dark ale has a wonderful aroma from Blue Spice Basil grown on our farm and was inspired by a song, The River, from Citizen Cope.
January 17th – We've had a lot of requests for Grandma to make her cookies again to sample along with our Molasses Cookie Porter. In addition to the release weekend, she makes them occasionally - Now's your chance, she is making some for this weekend!
January 18th – Pig in a Basket BBQ Truck
Come out and see why this food truck is quickly becoming a fan favorite!
January 24th – New Release
#66 Blueberry Cinnamon Oatmeal Black Ale - Pours with a deep red wine color with notes of blueberry and cinnamon, a rich stout like aroma, and a dry finish. This is a very small batch and will sell quickly!
January 25th – 4:30 - Science on Tap – Join us as Dr. Alison Ormsby comes out to the farm to discuss Citizen Science, and how you can get involved.
January 31st – New Release
#55 Rustic Saison – A saison with wonderful spicy undertones, slight woody notes, and an earthy dry finish.
February 2020 Events
Tip our Community – Sideways Barrel Fund
We don’t often take our own tips, in fact we have given over $15,000 back to the local community (not bad for a small startup business), but we have decided that all tips in February will help us to purchase barrels to expand our barrel aging program. This will help us to ensure that we have amazing beers ready for you when we bring back our Community Supported Brewery Membership for 2021!
